O - Shot / PRP Q & A

The O-Shot, or Orgasm Shot, is designed to help women regain comfort and control. It’s a nonsurgical, relatively quick procedure that regenerates and revitalizes the vaginal area.

As a result, it can help with a wide range of issues, including lack of vaginal lubrication, delayed orgasm or the inability to orgasm, low libido, painful intercourse, incontinence when you laugh or cough, and overactive bladder.

The O-Shot has also proven to be effective in treating lichen sclerosus. This chronic condition causes patches of thin, white skin around the vaginal area. These patches are prone to tearing and bruising and can be itchy and uncomfortable. Fortunately, the O-Shot can help minimize these symptoms.

How does it work?

The O-Shot leverages your body’s own healing power. At the start of your treatment, Amy Klein, DO, will talk you through the entire procedure so you know what to expect. Once you’re ready, Dr. Klein takes a small sample of blood from your arm.

She then separates that blood into separate components so she can isolate the platelets. Your blood’s platelets contain growth factors that trigger a natural healing response in your body. By separating them into a platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, and activating it with calcium, she can create a powerful tool that activates rejuvenation in your body.

After numbing the vaginal area with a topical cream, Dr. Klein then injects the PRP into the areas where it will be most effective. Upon receiving the PRP, your body kickstarts a healing and regeneration process.

The entire procedure usually takes between 30-40 minutes. It’s designed with your comfort in mind and Dr. Klein can talk you through any portions of the process about which you have questions.

What can I expect after my O-Shot?

One of the best aspects of the O-Shot is that it doesn’t require any downtime or post-procedure restrictions. You can skip the recovery period and immediately begin enjoying the benefits, including an improvement in vaginal lubrication, bladder control, clitoris sensitivity, comfortable sex, and strong orgasms.
