Intense Pulsed Light Therapy
IPL (short for intense pulsed light) is a popular treatment that is best known for its ability to treat vascular conditions like broken capillaries (spider veins) and the brown spots (age spots) caused by sun damage. It is used to treat rosacea and melasma as well. IPL stimulates the production of collagen, which plumps up the skin and gives you a fresher look and refines or tightens large pores. IPL is sometimes referred to as a photo facial. IPL is not the same as a laser treatment.
IPL is non-ablative meaning that it does not damage the surface of the skin. It uses short blasts of a polychromatic, high intensity light to penetrate just below the skin's surface, damaging either the melanin that makes up brown "age" spots or the blood vessels that create broken capillaries. The skin repairs the damage, leaving you with a more even skin tone. IPL is also used as a way to boost collagen and elastin.
IPL is also used to treat acne. The combination of light and heat destroys propioni-bacterium, the bacteria responsible for acne. It also shrinks sebaceous glands to stop overproduction of oils that cause acne.
It generally takes a series of treatments to see the best results, perhaps three to six treatments, usually four weeks apart. There is virtually no recovery time and minimal pain with the treatments. Treatments can be repeated every three to six months to maintain results.
Acne treatments are done in a series of eight treatments. For best results, you must commit to doing two treatments a week for four weeks.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Pixel fractional laser skin resurfacing is a revolutionary skin treatment that offers you the chance to look younger, healthier, and let your inner radiance free. The laser treatment can clear years of sun damage such as age spots, fine lines, and wrinkles. It can also shrink the appearance of pores and smooth out acne scars, giving you the soft and flawless skin of years gone by. In other words, laser skin resurfacing can help you transform blotchy, spotted, and pockmarked skin into the radiant glow of one's youth.
The pixel non-ablative resurfacing has the advantages of shorter recovery time and less discomfort compared to other resurfacing lasers. The laser pulse creates tiny ablative zones, removing the epidermis, and upper dermis. The treatment triggers the body's natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin tissue. The procedure treats small zones of the skin per treatment, leaving 65% of the skin untouched around the treated areas. The surrounded unaffected areas act as a reservoir for more effective and rapid tissue healing and collagen production, reducing the down time significantly. Pixel technology is performed as "scattered" ablation versus total ablation seen in other technologies that require an extensive recovery time.
Resurfacing technology allows for a smoother, tighter, and more improved skin texture in just several sessions, if not visible in the first session. Since this is an Erbium laser, patients with more moisture in their skin experience more sensation in their skin and faster results which will results in fewer treatments. Therefore a patient with dry skin may require more treatments. Depending on what the reason for treatment is, anything between two to five sessions may be needed, usually at three to four week intervals. Immediately after the treatment, some redness and warmth will be experienced like a sunburn. Expect this to dissipate over the next 3-5 days. Skin flaking is also expected as the old skin is sloughed and the new healthy skin is generated. Occlusive ointment should be worn for 3 days as your skin repairs the tiny pixel holes. In the following days, it is important to keep the skin well moisturized and protected from the sun.
Pixel laser skin resurfacing treats problems like uneven or course skin texture, enlarged pores, acne or surgical scars, fine lines and wrinkles, hormonal pigmentation, uneven skin tone, and skin laxity.
Botox (onabotulinumtoxin A) is a neurotoxin that is injected into the muscles to temporarily reduce muscle activity. It is used to treat many medical conditions. It is also used cosmetically to temporarily reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. Botox is consistently one of the top five nonsurgical cosmetic procedures performed each year. Injections in specific facial muscles can eradicate crow's feet, frown lines and furrows in the forehead. Results are visible within one week after treatment and remain for a minimum of three months.
Young, healthy looking skin contains an abundance of naturally hydrating substances called hyaluronic acid (HA). As you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds, like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth.
Using a dermal filler like Juvederm is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.
Juvederm demal filler is a nonsurgical, physician administered treatment for nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles. Juvederm is injected gently under the skinto fill the sof tissue of the dermis. This adds volume and diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and nasolabial folds instantly.

Blue Light Acne Treatment
LED light delivers specific wavelengths of blue light that target the strain of bacteria responsible for causing acne in many people. The light causes the development of oxygen radicals that kill P.acnes bacteria without damaging healthy skin. The treatments consist of sitting under the light for 20-30 minutes, are pain-free, and best when done twice weekly for 4 weeks.
Microdermabrasion is a technique for removing the topmost layer of skin leaving it supple and vibrant. The NeuSkin system removes this layer of skin by gently exfoliating the skin with fine, aluminum oxide crystals, while at the same time vacuuming the dead skin cells away in a sterile and controlled manner. Removing this outer layer of skin cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells. The treatment is used to diminish the appearance of scars, acne scarring, facial spots and wrinkles. Microdermabrasion requires no downtime after the treatment. Normal activities may be resumed immediately. Treatments vary from 4-8 sessions, depending on the desired results and condition being treated.
The ultrasonic scrubber is used for lifting away dead skin cells and decreasing the thickness of the outer skin, the stratum corneum. It gently exfoliates by delivering ultrasonic vibration to the skin without friction or abrasion. It also emulsifies and lifts debris out of the pores, which makes it an ideal treatment for acne.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is used for unwanted hair on the face, under arms, bikini line, legs, or other areas where hair is bothersome. We use the Syntech Nice Epilator diode laser which achieves permanent hair removal over several treatments. The treatments are spaced 4-6 weeks apart and usually require 8-10 treatments depending on skin type, body area and thickness of hair. Topical numbing cream can be prescribed to apply prior to treatment for maximizing comfort. It is recommended you avoid the sun 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after treatment.
